Just when I thought I’d heard it all, German producer Wolfgang Voigt barges through the door with his mixture of ambient mood swings and dark 90’s techno, plays me the first track off of his new EP “Rückverzauberung 6” and the rest is beatless history.
Prepare yourself for “Rückverzauberung 6.1” as the voices of female opera singers and male tenors swarm in on you like cicadas making warm love in the trees, on lamp posts, and even on your shoulder. The song continues to invade your personal bubble, then rupture it, well into five minutes, as the voices swell unbearably high, and eventually die down into husks of digital hush.
Check out Magazine Records for more atmospheric, and sometimes, frightful tunes.
